Help eliminate contamination with a grain store vacuum
22nd March 2024
Hugh Crane (Cleaning Equipment) Ltd has been working with farmers throughout East Anglia for over 41 years, supporting them in all aspects of industrial cleaning. Over the last few years, the company has seen a huge demand for grain store vacuums as farmers see the economic benefits of increased yields by keeping their grain stores clean and free from disease.
Safe, effective grain storage is key to assuring crop quality and helping prevent loss of premiums through claims and rejections. Good storage practice minimises risk throughout the supply chain and safeguards food safety. Store hygiene is important for eliminating sources of contamination from storage fungi, insects and mites. Stores should be thoroughly cleaned prior to the new intake and the use of the right type of vacuum cleaner is essential to remove debris.
Hugh Crane says its customers are now demanding large capacity high powered industrial vacuums capable of working with fine dusts for prolonged periods of time.
One of its most popular models is the Nilfisk S3 single phase industrial vacuum. Its powerful suction and long hose allows you to clean all areas of your grain store with ease. This machine benefits from a huge filtration area thanks to its large filters. The drop-down waste bins also make for easy waste disposal.
The Nilfisk S3 is a single-phase industrial vac with three “by-pass” motors. It is fitted with an electronic board for easy control and monitoring and is available with a 50-litre bin, 100-litre bin or a Gravity Unload System (GU) with either a plastic or Longopac disposal bag.
All models have an easy-to-use electronic control panel, a manual filter shaker and a sit down container system. Hugh Crane can also offer specialist vacuums including ATEX rated machines for explosive environments such as flour mills where fine dust can cause explosive risks.
William Crane heads up the vacuum division and offers specialist advice and on-site demos on a large range of machines from a number of different manufacturers.
Long term experience in the cleaning equipment industry and a close working relationship with many of the world’s leading equipment manufacturers, allows Hugh Crane to match the right equipment to a specific task, providing efficiency and value for money for each customer.
With over 100 different vacuums to choose from, William can offer an almost bespoke solution, he says.
All equipment is fully tested prior to despatch and delivered to site by our own transport and installed and hand over instructions given to ensure safe and efficient operation.
As well as purchase, Hugh Crane offers lease facilities allowing customers to spread capital costs over a specific period, and has a large hire department.
